Yoga Nidra - Guided Meditation

This deeply restorative guided meditation practice allows you to relax, recharge and rejuvenate.  Many people try to sleep with their mind still switched on.  Learning how to turn off excessive thinking and worry is the key to getting deep restful sleep.  One of the easiest ways to do this is practicing Yoga Nidra.

Although it does not replace normal sleep, 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra is the equivalent of 3 to 4 hours of sleep.  This is particularly useful when you are struggling to sleep well during pregnancy and after the birth of your baby.

Yoga Nidra can help you to understand and become more aware of your growing body and can also help with fatigue and insomnia.  Continuous practice will help a new mum cope with tiredness and sleepless nights and the demands of her new baby.

Practiced in the lying position, it is one of the most popular yoga meditation techniques as it induces a profoundly deep state of rest.  It is effortless, enjoyable, soothing and recuperative.

Yoga Nidra is a wonderful way to stay connected with your baby, your breath and your body, providing you with valuable time to switch off from the outside world, delve deep inside and spiritually bond with the new little person growing inside.

Pranayama - Breathing techniques

Breath is the source of life and breathing is the most important aspect of a workout or yoga pose.  The ancient pranayamas (breathing techniques) that we teach are designed to allow energy to flow freely through the body and ensure that every cell in the body receives oxygen and nutrients.

The breathing and meditation techniques that you will learn are life skills that will carry through to motherhood and beyond.  Keeping calm and taking care of your inner being will ensure you retain strength and resilience to stay focused and in control during birthing and those early months when you have a new person to care for along with all the other pressures of modern day living.
